Contributor Biography

Cathal Seoighe has a degree in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Bioinformatics (2000), both in Trinity College Dublin. Since 2019 he has been the scientific director of the SFI Centre for Research Training in Genomics Data Science. Cathal’s research interests include variation in somatic and germline mutation rates, genetic contributors to variation in gene expression and other molecular phenotypes, modeling molecular evolution and development of statistical methods and computational tools for the analysis of genomics data.
